Gas management is essential for the commercial success of a landfill and of a landfill gas utilization project:
  • It forms the basis for the feasibility of various utilization options
  • It leads to better anticipation of changes in gas quality and quantity (and identifies if any other gas treatment facilities such as gas cleaning are necessary), promoting:
    - More operational availabilities
    - Higher revenues (from carbon credits or power sales)
  • Enables the company to comply with the several requirements of CDM and JI projects (e.g. the requirement for regular reporting).

The services provided include:

  • Technical monitoring of landfills, in particular the development of the gas production
  • Survey and preparing of gas prognoses and gas analysis
  • Monitoring and securing quality management of all regular emission measurements at landfill gas utilization plants (including all peripheral equipment)
  • Compliance management:
    - Execution of administrative aspects in the context of the respective national authorization procedures (for plant installations) and for regular surveys
    - Health and safety aspects.
  • Consultancy services for project development business units within Green Gas covering landfill management, waste disposal technologies, measuring techniques
  • Coordination with and supervision of external institutions and laboratories over emission measurements.
